Since 1978 Michael has been working with the Internet. At the time it was called the ARPANET, the really high-speed connections ran at 56K, and the good modems were only 300 baud. While at Carnegie Mellon University, Michael started an on-line joke service.
Almost 20 years later, high speed connections run at over 45 million bits per second, and the joke server averages over one joke per second. |
